Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Saturday conducted an on-site inspection of the 49-kilometre Eiyenkorin–Afon–Ojoku–Offa–Odo Otin road project, expressing high commendation for the impressive pace and top-quality workmanship observed. This concrete road is among four major road projects in Kwara State currently funded through the federal tax credit scheme, initiated by the BUA Group conglomerate.
The Governor lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to the execution of federal tax credit projects and other development initiatives benefiting Kwara. “This Ilorin-Offa road is a significant achievement. The solid construction you see is a testament to the renewed hope and progress under this administration,” Governor AbdulRazaq told reporters after the inspection.
He highlighted the road’s potential to transform regional connectivity, explaining that once completed, travel time between Ilorin, Offa, and neighboring communities will be drastically reduced to just 30 minutes. “This is a critical investment stemming from the Renewed Hope Agenda. Policies are yielding tangible results with increased infrastructure spending, which people within the state can clearly witness,” he said, expressing deep appreciation for the President’s leadership.
Accompanied by Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah, and SUBEB Chairman, Professor Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, the Governor received progress updates from the site engineer, Abdulsalam Onaolapo, who confirmed that work is ongoing around the clock to meet project deadlines.
Governor AbdulRazaq used the occasion to affirm Kwara’s steadfast support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid post-2027. “Who will say no to President Tinubu after witnessing these investments across Kwara and beyond? The people are fully behind him to complete this transformational developmental agenda.”
He further emphasized that the reforms instituted by the current administration are working effectively, with benefits steadily permeating through infrastructure development, social protection programs, and enhanced security.
The Governor also praised BUA Group for their exceptional work quality, citing similarly impressive progress on the Bode Sadu–Kaiama–Kosubosu road project despite challenges posed by the rainy season. “They are doing a first-class job. We’ve been on site, and the work speaks for itself. Kudos to BUA,” the Governor remarked.
In addition to the road inspections, Governor AbdulRazaq visited the ongoing renovation of the Primary Healthcare Centre in Okesho, Asa Local Government Area. Earlier in the day, he paid condolence visits to the families of Daudu Ballah and Alhaji Abdulkadir Kawu Yahya, who passed away last Friday, and attended the Fidau prayer for the late former State Accountant General, Alhaji Suleiman Bayero.
