The event, orchestrated by the SYD Grassroots Mobilization Team, took place at the Ilorin West Charlet, Fate, Ilorin, on Sunday. It brought together a diverse assembly of religious leaders, local government executives, lawmakers, Commissioners, special assistants & advisers, councilors, and devoted members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), all united in their commitment to the state’s development.
A Collective Prayer for Visionary Leadership and Wellbeing
The legislative aides, who work closely with the lawmakers, expressed profound admiration for the leadership qualities exhibited by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Speaker Salihu Yakubu Danladi. Comrade Dada Sunday, the Chief Coordinator of the SYD Mobilization Team, emphasized the unique vantage point of the aides in observing the dedication and effectiveness of these leaders.
“Our role places us at the heart of legislative activities, allowing us to witness firsthand the tireless efforts and visionary leadership that have marked this administration. Through SYD, we aim to amplify these achievements and ensure that the people of Kwara are fully aware of the progress being made,” Comrade Sunday stated.
Celebrating a Harmonious Partnership Driving Development
A key highlight of the prayers was the recognition of the exceptional collaboration between the executive and legislative branches of government in Kwara State. This partnership has been instrumental in fostering stability and driving infrastructural and social development across the state’s 193 wards.
“The unity within the Assembly, under the able guidance of Speaker Danladi, is remarkable. Unlike many other states plagued by internal conflicts, Kwara enjoys a cohesive and productive legislative environment that complements the governor’s vision,” Comrade Sunday noted.
Spiritual Leaders Lead the Charge
The prayer session was led by respected religious figures, including Pastor Gideon Babatunde Yekeen and Pastor Kenneth Adegoke, Chairmen of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Oke-Ero and Ekiti Local Government Areas, alongside Alhaji Abdulqaudri AbdulSalam, Chief Imam of Surulere. Their prayers sought divine wisdom, protection, and continued success for the state’s leadership.
Looking Ahead: Sustaining Momentum and Expanding Impact
Beyond the immediate prayers, the SYD Grassroots Mobilization Team voiced hopes for the sustained influence of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Speaker Danladi, envisioning their leadership extending beyond current roles to broader platforms where they can continue to effect positive change.
“We are not driven by political aspirations but by a genuine desire to see Kwara thrive under capable leadership. We pray for God’s guidance to enable these leaders to reach new heights and continue their transformative work,” Comrade Sunday affirmed.
Kwara’s Renaissance: A Testament to Effective Governance
The gathering underscored the tangible progress witnessed in Kwara State, from urban renewal projects in Ilorin to widespread infrastructural improvements. The synergy between the executive and legislature has created an environment conducive to growth, positioning Kwara as a model of effective governance.
As the state continues on this promising trajectory, the prayers and support from the legislative aides and wider community serve as a powerful endorsement of the current leadership’s vision and accomplishments.
