APC Sets ₦50 Million Nomination Fees for Ekiti 2026 Governorship, Offers Discounts for Youths, Women, and Persons with Disabilities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a revised timetable and fee structure for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election ahead of its party primaries. According to the schedule released by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the nomination and expression of interest forms will be sold at a combined fee of ₦50 million, with notable concessions offered to female aspirants, persons with disabilities, and youths aged 25 to 40.

The pre-election activities will kick off with the release of the official notice to the Ekiti State chapter on Friday, July 26, 2025. The party will open the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms from Monday, August 26, 2025, closing on Friday, August 30, 2025. Updates to the party membership register for those eligible to vote in the primaries will be conducted between Monday, July 29 and Friday, August 9, 2025. Completed forms must be submitted by Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Screening of aspirants is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, with results published the following day. Appeals against screening outcomes will be accepted on Thursday, September 25, 2025. The party will conduct ward congresses to elect delegates on Saturday, September 27, with appeals from these congresses entertained on Monday, September 29. The governorship primary election will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, with the final appeal window closing on Thursday, October 2.

The APC has pegged the nomination form fee at ₦40 million and the expression of interest form at ₦10 million. However, female aspirants and persons with disabilities are exempt from the nomination form fee and only need to purchase the expression of interest form. Youths between 25 and 40 years old will benefit from a 50% discount on the nomination fee. Delegate forms are priced at ₦5,000. Only active party members with at least three months of continuous membership before the timetable release are eligible to participate. Forms can be purchased at the Directorate of Organisation at APC’s National Headquarters in Abuja.
