The Federal High Court in Lafia has ordered all parties in the ongoing suit challenging the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State to maintain the status quo, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
Presiding judge, Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon, made the order in a case filed by Gayam Ward Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Ilyasu, and 13 other officials, questioning the legality of Alhaji Aliyu Bello’s continued stay as APC State Chairman after his suspension.
The plaintiffs, through their counsel, Isa Nalaraba, sought an interim injunction to stop Bello from parading himself as chairman, arguing that his ward-level suspension disqualifies him.

They also accused him of threatening to expel Gayam Ward executives.
However, Justice Olajuwon declined to grant the interim order and ruled that the matter must be heard on its merit.
Reacting, Nalaraba insisted Bello’s suspension remains valid, while Bello’s counsel, Thomas Ogboshi, welcomed the decision to delay judgment until full hearing.
