Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, a Board of Trustees member of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) representing Nigeria’s North Central Zone, has fulfilled his ₦5 million development pledge to the Department of Political Science at the University of Ilorin. This act reflects his enduring passion for elevating educational standards and fostering human capital development across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
The pledge was first made during a prestigious Distinguished Personality Lecture held in honour of Engr. Adeyemi at the University of Ilorin’s main auditorium. The event, themed “TETFund as a Catalyst for Transformative Educational Outcomes: A Paradigm Shift Towards Achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda’s Objectives in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions,” engaged participants in an insightful discourse on how education serves as a driving force for national policy and development.
In delivering on his commitment, Engr. Adeyemi reiterated his dedication to the ideals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the critical role of institutions like TETFund and NELFUND in transforming Nigeria’s education landscape. He described his donation as a strategic investment intended to empower the university and advance its mission of producing future leaders.
“Investing in education is investing in the future of our nation. Supporting the Department of Political Science is a clear demonstration of my belief that institutions of higher learning are the cradle of ideas that shape countries,” Engr. Adeyemi remarked.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Dr. A. J. Edun, Head of Political Science at Unilorin, applauded Engr. Adeyemi’s generosity and visionary leadership. In a letter dated September 30, 2025, Dr. Edun highlighted the stimulating nature of the lecture and the significant impact of the financial support on enhancing teaching, research, and learning facilities within the department.
