In a renewed push to end insecurity, the Zamfara State Government has convened a high-level security stakeholders’ meeting in Gusau, aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration and adopting new strategies to combat banditry and criminal activities.
The meeting, organised by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), brought together top security commanders, senior state officials, and the federal agency representatives for a strategic review of the state’s security situation.
Malam Abubakar Nakwada, the Secretary to the State Government, who chaired the meeting, was later joined by Deputy Governor Mani Malam Mummuni restated the state government’s strong political will to restore peace and stability.
Participants conducted a critical appraisal of current security challenges and adopted 10 new strategic recommendations designed to reinforce recent gains and upscale coordinated efforts against criminal elements.
Malam Nakwada praised the commitment of security operatives across the state, conveying the government’s appreciation for their service.
“The sacrifices of our security personnel are deeply acknowledged. On behalf of Governor Dauda Lawal, we say thank you,” he said.
He stressed the need for adaptable and coordinated approaches to counter evolving threats to achieve lasting peace, and work together.
Deputy Governor Mummuni, in his closing remarks, commended stakeholders for their efforts and called for renewed determination.
“We must secure every inch of Zamfara and restore hope to our people,” he declared.
The meeting marks another decisive move by the Dauda Lawal-led administration to tackle insecurity and ensure a safer Zamfara State.
